The Grand Coalition
by Leslie on August 19, 2010
From leftist radicals and boycotting unions to Osama Bin Laden and his ilk—the call is the same: “Israel – get out of Gaza”.
Ironically the so-called occupation ended 5 years ago when Israel removed every last soldier and Jewish resident from within Gaza’s border. Read more…

Media-Hangover
by Leslie on July 15, 2010
America’s two most urgent handicaps are its legal and media sectors. All-too-significant portions of both groups seem most proficient at driving their self-serving agendas like Transylvanian stakes through the heart of America’s pioneering spirit. Read more…

America – Amazing and Tolerant
by Leslie on July 3, 2010
Over the past decade, untold numbers of Muslim innocents – both Shia and Sunni—have been slaughtered by their co-religionists.
Moreover, a growing list of Christians, Jews and Americans have been murdered, blown up, and beheaded throughout the Muslim World and beyond, often for the mere presumption of their birth religion or place. Read more…

How Not to Contain Iran
by Leslie on June 15, 2010
Recently, James Lindsay and Ray Takeyah – two well-known foreign policy centrists and, at least in the case of Mr. Takeyah, a full-blown Iran expert – took to the establishment pages of Foreign Affairs and the Washington Post op-ed page to (finally) warn against the clear nuclear and hegemonic ambitions of Iran.
Subsequently, Mr. Stephen Walt – the so-called “realist” who became the left-intelligentsia’s poster boy by “exposing” the Jewish lobby – Read more…

Dangerous Stakes
by Leslie on June 5, 2010
Changing tacks following Turkey’s thus-far unsuccessful bid for EU membership, it seems that Turkey’s Prime Minister Erdogan is bidding for the leadership of the Muslim World instead. He reportedly bank-rolled the terrorist-associated IHH in buying the lead ship for breaking Israel’s blockage of Gaza, and certainly facilitated the inclusion, without passports and security checks, of 100-plus Islamist radicals on board. Israel’s blockade has been maintained to prevent Hamas Read more…

The Remaking of America
by Leslie on May 19, 2010
Barack Obama, for what it’s worth, is certainly conducting a consequential presidency. Already history-making in character, Obama’s health care “reforms” and his appeasement-happy foreign policy are game-changers in content as well. America of 10 years hence will not be the same, especially for those of us who love her entrepreneurial style and her indomitable independent spirit. Read more…

Forgiveness is not justice
by Leslie on May 5, 2010
A seemingly unbridgeable divide remains between American liberalism – borne of contemporary, “turn-the-other-cheek” Christianity – and archetypal reap-what-you-sow Judaism. It’s strange – for almost 2,000 years the Church persecuted Jews for being different. Yet we now hear calls from many (though, by no means, all) of our country’s Christian corners for understanding, love, kindness and forgiveness toward the Other. Read more…

Believe No Evil
by Leslie on April 5, 2010
The most painful moments of modern times seem to occur when society’s elites – whether in government, academia, the media or otherwise – choose to believe in the innate goodness of mankind and to turn away from mounting evidence of impending evil.
One may argue that distracted citizens and the uninformed members of our society were not apprised of the evidence that Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao and the like were so adept at publicizing, at exposing with evident pride Read more…

Middle East Chess

Islamist Extremism and the Murder of Daniel Pearl
by Leslie on March 22, 2010
These are edited remarks Senator Joseph Lieberman delivered at the fourth annual Daniel Pearl Memorial Lecture at Stanford University on October 18, 2009.
“Daniel Pearl’s legacy is a powerful one, precisely because he embodied so many of the best values and convictions of our country and of the Jewish faith and people, with which he courageously identified himself in the final moment of his life… I am speaking of the values of freedom of thought and expression, of curiosity and tolerance; Read more…
